“Illilanga” is situated approximately 7km south of Michelago, located in the Monaro region of SE NSW, within the upper Murrumbidgee catchment. The Murrumbidgee river lies to the west of “Illilanga” and the Tinderry mountain range to the east. The property covers 86 acres (34.80ha) across a variety of ecological communities, including endangered grassy box gum woodlands and natural temperate grasslands. Part of our property is under a conservation agreement and we are currently restoring various dams into wetland habitats. Many of our conservation/rehabilitation/restoration projects involve partnerships with organisations such as Greening Australia, Landcare and NSW LLS. We are active members of Michelago Landcare and the “Kosciuszko2Coast” project (a community partnership established to help landowners create connections between remnant woodlands and grasslands). We are also members of the Canberra Ornithologists Group and contribute regular bird surveys to eBird. Some of our CNM sightings will also be from our travels elsewhere in the region. :)
